Intelligent System Design for Recreational Vehicles

Between 2019 and 2022, the private short-term self-driving travel market experienced significant growth due to the global pandemic. This growth also led to an increase in the RV rental market. Moreover, there has been an interesting trend where many digital nomads, who lack a fixed office location in major cities, have chosen to reside in RVs for extended periods to avoid high rental costs. However, the user experience of RVs has been largely neglected by the market. This raises questions about the problems faced by long-term RV users and short-term rental users when utilizing RVs. Are these issues related to urban infrastructure or camping facilities? And can these problems be improved through thoughtful design?

In this project, our team aims to address the most challenging aspects of RV living: internal resource allocation and resource acquisition within RVs. To tackle these issues, we will leverage artificial intelligence and big data to enhance the overall user experience for both long-term users and short-term renters of RVs. This includes addressing concerns such as optimizing energy supply and management, improving toilet and bathroom facilities, and exploring potential connections to urban infrastructure and camping facilities.

Through the integration of artificial intelligence and big data, we aspire to find innovative solutions that can improve the quality of life for individuals living in RVs. By identifying and analyzing patterns, optimizing resource utilization, and providing personalized recommendations, we aim to enhance the efficiency and convenience of RV living. Ultimately, our goal is to contribute to the development of a more user-centric and sustainable RV lifestyle.
